Some of the themes I want to work on are close ups and
details. The work Tulipa by Kristina Gentyainyte caught my eye on the website
Behance and I thought it would be a good project to talk about. Unfortunately,
there is not a lot of information about this project, but it seems like for
this work Gentvainyte used a film camera. I love the feeling these images give
out without the help of context. With the contrast and intensity, these images
make me feel as if they are surreal, as if these images are part of a dream.
Since the images are in black and white, I think it gives more focus on the
effect created which is the noise. I would like to experiment with film
photography to get images with the same feel as these and create noise if
possible.
When researching about the photographer I read that she does
digital photography manipulation. It could be that she took the images on a
digital camera with a good ISO and edited them afterwards. That is also
something I would like to experiment with when trying to capture that heavy
noise texture.
